  1. A full-length practice of the Consortium's shape: verbal, mathematical and non-verbal alongside the creative and critical thinking sections. On screen, because that is how it is sat.

  2. The Consortium designed this test to resist teaching to it. That makes the underlying reading, number sense and problem solving the only real lever, and it is where the first months go.

Starting late?

This is the school where a short run is least penalised, because the Consortium test is built to resist coaching and rewards underlying ability. Four months of good reading, number work and problem solving moves the needle more here than four months of drilling would at a school setting its own papers. The hard limit is the Consortium registration deadline, which no school can waive.

The practical questions

No. Godolphin is one of 14 schools in The London 11+ Consortium, and candidates sit the Consortium's assessment rather than a Godolphin paper. A girl applying to several Consortium schools sits the assessment once, and the result is shared between them. Sat in the candidate's own junior school wherever possible. Where a school cannot offer it, any Consortium school the candidate has applied to will host it. Godolphin then runs its own interview for the candidates it invites back.

No, and this is the thing most worth checking. The Consortium states: "In 2022 the Consortium introduced a new bespoke assessment process, for entry in September 2023 onwards, which goes beyond testing cognitive ability alone and seeks to discover a child's potential in creative and critical thinking, analysis, synthesis and problem-solving." It replaced its older cognitive-ability test for September 2023 entry onwards. Pages describing the Consortium as an ISEB pre-test are describing an arrangement that has ended, and ISEB courses sold for these schools prepare for a test ISEB does not write.

Verbal and mathematical potential, non-verbal ability, and creative and critical thinking, analysis, synthesis and problem-solving. It runs 100 minutes online. The creative and critical thinking half is what distinguishes it from a conventional reasoning paper, and it is the half that cannot be drilled — which is the Consortium's stated intention.

Registration closes Friday 6 November 2026, 12pm. The Consortium assessment falls on Friday 27 November, Tuesday 1 December or Thursday 3 December 2026, Godolphin's interviews are on Friday 15 January 2027, offers go out on Friday 12 February 2027, and acceptances are due by Wednesday 3 March 2027, 12 noon. Those dates are the Consortium's, so they are the same at every member school.

No — that is the point of the Consortium. A girl applying to several Consortium schools sits the assessment once, and the result is shared between them. Member schools include Channing School, Francis Holland, Regent's Park, Francis Holland, Sloane Square, Godolphin and Latymer, Highgate and nine others. What still differs school by school is the interview and how each weighs the result, so preparation is one assessment and several conversations rather than several exams.

Most families we work with start twelve to eighteen months out. That leaves room to build the underlying English and maths before anything is timed, and to spend the final autumn on the Consortium assessment and the Godolphin interview. Shorter runs work and are common — we have prepared candidates in under four months — but a short run is triage rather than a full pass, and we will be straight with you about what is realistic before you book anything.

Every one of our Godolphin tutors is an alumna of the school and sat this assessment themselves. We teach in person in London and online anywhere in the UK. Tutoring is charged per hour from £60, with no contracts and no packages to buy up front. The first lesson is no commitment and you can stop at any time, and a free 20-minute consultation comes first.

Godolphin does not set its own 11+ paper

It is one of 14 schools in The London 11+ Consortium. Your daughter sits one 100-minute online assessment, sat in the candidate's own junior school wherever possible. where a school cannot offer it, any consortium school the candidate has applied to will host it. and the result goes to every Consortium school she has applied to. Godolphin then runs its own interview.

It is not the ISEB Common Pre-Test, and the Consortium says so itself
