Frequently Asked Questions
Everything parents typically want to know about our service, our tutors, and the admissions preparation process.
Getting Started
We can usually begin within 3–7 days. Once you contact us, we arrange a short consultation, match your child with the right tutor, and confirm your first session. For the Introduction Package, digital access begins immediately on purchase.
Once you send us an enquiry, we ask for a few key details: what your child is preparing for, their current working level, and the target school. We then arrange a short 20-minute consultation and match your child with the most appropriate tutor.
We match based on your child's target school, exam type, year group, and personality fit. Where possible, we assign a tutor who attended the same target school — so they have genuine first-hand knowledge of the admissions process.
Sessions & Lessons
It depends on your child's age, focus level, and the subject being covered. For younger students (7+ and 11+), 45–60 minutes is usually the sweet spot. For older students (13+ and 16+), 60–90 minutes can be productive. We discuss the right format during your consultation.
Our tutors are available on most weekday evenings after 5pm, as well as throughout the weekend, subject to individual availability. We try to match your preferred slot as closely as possible during the booking process.
We offer both. Online sessions are delivered via Zoom or Google Meet with screen-sharing and interactive whiteboard tools. In-person sessions are available for families in Cambridge and surrounding areas. Many families prefer the flexibility of online.
Progress & Feedback
Yes. Every student receives structured homework between lessons, written tutor feedback on each session, and regular progress updates through our parent portal. You can log in at any time to see the latest scores, comments, and study plan tasks.
Yes — this is one of the core features of our service. The member portal includes a full assessment score tracker, subject progress bars, a final readiness score, and tutor commentary. Progress is fully transparent and visible to parents at all times.
Once you purchase a package, you receive login access to our secure parent portal. Inside, you can view your child's assessment scores, track progress across all subjects, access resources and mark schemes, read tutor feedback, and follow the 6-week study plan. The portal is accessible on desktop and mobile.

About Our Tutors
Yes — and in many cases more effective than adult tutors for this type of preparation. Our tutors attended the same selective schools your child is targeting, sat the same entrance tests, and recently went through the same admissions process. That lived experience is difficult to replicate from secondary sources.
All tutors go through a thorough vetting process including identity verification, reference checks, and a structured interview. Tutors who work with children under 18 hold or are in the process of obtaining a DBS check. We also monitor all sessions and collect parent feedback after each lesson.
